Volleyball association Geklonken en Gelaste Vriendshap (GGV) volleyball is a real authentic volleyball association of Leiden with an international twist. Next to our Dutch members with sometimes the well-known Leidse R pronunciation, you might also hear Italian, Spanish, English, German, Greek, Polish ... From which we believe that this makes GGV special. Which means that everyone is welcome at our club!

Foremost, our athletic performance is our priority. That was already the case when our club was  established in 1952. Currently, we have eight competition teams registered with the Nevobo, three men's and five women's teams, and we have an active recreational team. Our teams play in the second, third and fourth class. The practices are on Monday and Wednesday evenings and vary between Rijnland Revalidatie Centrum (RRC) and Leonardo DaVinci College. The recreational team trains on the Wednesday night in the Stevenshof (A. Kleynstraat) and the home matches of our competition teams are held on the Friday night in the Vijf Meihal and occasionally on a Saturday in the Broekplein. There is also the possibility on Tuesday to participate with a trainer-free practice (Leonardo DaVinci College). In the summer we don’t stop playing volleyball, you can actually find us on the Wednesday evenings at the beach of Katwijk to practice our beach volleyball skills.

Besides playing volleyball we find other social activities within GGV very important. Our activities committee (ACCIE) organizes year-around fun activities including skiing, games night, a weekend getaway and of course regular get-togethers in the cozy town of Leiden! Our tournament committee organizes the annual beach volleyball tournament and blacklight tournament and occasionally a new year tournament.

Several times a year GGV publishes their own digital magazine, BLOK. Here you can find the information about GGV members but also match reports, interviews and stories about various activities, and not to forget the pictures, volleyball tips, and did you know facts.
